It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of one of the hottest summers I can remember. I’m looking forward to some cooler days ahead. I know you all remember the Membership Drive we had last year when we added a record number of new members to our association. With this wonderful addition of members comes a responsibility now to retain them going forward. We can use your support to encourage those who joined back then to continue to support our local association with their membership renewal in the coming months.  Our August membership meeting was sponsored by Metro Water Filter International and Fowler Flemister Concrete. We had over 90 members attending to hear our local bankers share their ideas on how to improve our relationship with our local bankers and compare our success here at the lake with some of the more difficult housing markets around the country. I want to thank them for their time and look forward to other opportunities to have another panel presentation in the future.  September’s Membership meeting will be our annual Associate Appreciation Event held September 7 at the Reynolds Pavilion sponsored by Bonacori Custom Homes of Georgia, Calvert & White Custom Homes, Camden Homes, Dreambuilt, LLC, Jeffrey Homes, Inc., Jones & Jones Premier Builders, Kokopelli Builders, Inc., Linger Longer Homes, Pilot Builders, Inc., Rick Buechler Custom Homes, Inc., and Stone Hill Development, Inc. Each year this event helps us introduce our association to non-members and treat our current associates to a free lunch. This meeting will also feature some of our local political candidates who support us in our building pursuits. Mickey Channell, Johnny Grant, Rusty Kidd, and Suzanne Williams have been invited.  Just one more reminder of our Golf Tournament which will be held October 12^th at the Harbor Club course. Our Golf Tournament committee has been working very hard to make sure this event is successful at a time when we have so many events like this being held. This will be our last event for this year and we rely on your continued participation to make it successful. I understand they will be coming up with some new ways to make sponsoring this event a great marketing opportunity for all of us.
